IWC Schaffhausen & George Russell Introduce Signature Blue Pilot's Watches
IWC Schaffhausen has teamed up with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team driver George Russell to unveil two bold limited-edition Pilot’s Watches that combine high-performance with personal design touches. Created in collaboration with the British racing star, the collection includes a chronograph and an automatic model, both showcasing Russell’s signature aesthetic and competitive spirit.
Crafted in black zirconium oxide ceramic, both timepieces feature black dials with printing and luminescence in a striking blue colour, reflecting the signature blue tone also seen on Russell’s helmet. The watches are equipped with titanium case backs and engraved with the driver’s starting number, “63”.
Russell’s Formula One™ journey began in 2019, and after joining the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team in 2022, he secured pole position at the Hungarian Grand Prix™ and seven podiums in his first 20 races with the team. Russell has since secured five Grand Prix victories for the team, with his latest win at the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix. The acclaimed racing driver has now collaborated with IWC’s creative team to design two limited-edition Pilot’s Watches, bringing his creative touch to the brand.
The colour blue plays a central role in the collection. While Russell initially raced with a black helmet, he soon returned to a blue-dominant design that has become synonymous with his brand. Standing out on the Formula 1™ grid, blue is uniquely associated with Russell and emblematic of the duality he brings as a driver: calm under pressure, yet fiercely competitive - and is woven throughout the watches, from the dial details to the robust blue rubber straps.
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 George Russell (Ref. IW389411) is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre, offering a 46-hour power reserve. Its case is complemented by Ceratanium® crown and pushers, a material developed by IWC that combines the lightness of titanium with ceramic-like hardness. The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 George Russell (Ref. IW328107), driven by the 32112 calibre, features a double-pawl winding system and an impressive 120-hour power reserve.
Both models are fitted with blue rubber straps equipped with IWC’s EasX-CHANGE® system, allowing effortless strap changes without tools. Together, these limited-edition timepieces represent a fusion of precision watchmaking, motorsport performance, and George Russell’s personal journey—on and off the track.
