DMR x IWC Schaffhausen: In Conversation with Justin Hast

On 12th March 2025, we welcomed friends of DMR to an exclusive event at our Manchester showroom dedicated to the new blue dial IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur Automatic 40.
Renowned watch specialist Justin Hast, and DMR watch manager Lee Chadwick, were on hand to offer an in-depth look at the craftsmanship and innovation behind the IWC Ingenieur collection.
The event offered a unique experience to learn more about this new release and gave our guests an insight into the world of IWC Schaffhausen.
December 2024 saw the launch of the IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur Automatic 40 (Ref. IW328907) featuring a blue dial, a model that reflects the bold aesthetic codes of Gérald Genta’s original Ingenieur SL from the 1970s while also meeting the highest standards regarding ergonomics and wearability, finishing and movement technology.
The Ingenieur Automatic 40 boasts a striking blue dial with the characteristic “grid” structure stamped into the soft iron base using high pressure. The rhodium-plated baton hands and the applied metal marker are all filled with Super-LumiNova® luminescent mass to enhance legibility in all lighting conditions.
Throughout the evening, Justin gave our guests a detailed overview of the blue dial Ingenieur 40 and told us what he loves about the latest release:
